Little two two
January 26, 2012 is the day I stopped writing for hubpages. I am disappointed with the direction HP is taking in regards to turning themselves into nothing but a content farm.
When I started getting emails telling me it was my turn to like and share their article, I knew it was the beginning of the end, and it wasnt one or two emails. I explained why that shit doesn't fly with me, I was then directed to a number of articles on hubpages, encouraging people to share and like each others work in exchange for one back and hubpages allows it.
This seriously threatens the level of quality to be found within hubpages. Anyone remember the wise old saying, you are what you hang with?
Content farms are great for the short term, not so hot for the long term. I am willing to work hard and improve, but it appears hubpages is happy having their platform lowered to that of being a content farm, wheeling and dealing for links, shares and likes. I dont care to be associated with that. Maybe if Hubpages grows up and gets professional again, I will return.
Till then I can be found on sites that promote, encourage and reward professional behaviour: squidoo, triond, zujava ... all under the same name.
But fear not, I still pop in to check on some writers that I like.
Interested in the newest social media, one that lets you have shares in the company? ... you HAVE to check zurker out.
